Monday Morning and it is time to play armchair quarterback.  Two situations happened in league action yesterday that took the promise that franchises had and nearly flushed them down the toilet.  No it is not a fluke injury to a hand that derailed the Raiders early on.  These were decisions by either the coach in the game or the organization in a whole that bit them in the behind right away.  So let us join Americas Bookie’s The Brink in ordering the invitations to the wakes at hand in the NFL.

Same Old Lions

This had the luxury of both having an off season decision and an on the field occurrence leading to a blown 21-3 lead.  33-28 which saw the Chargers score thirty points in succession.  Allowing Suh to bolt to Maimi was more a blow towards leadership and chemistry than talent.  The Lions accepted there fate all to easy.  A Suh team might still have let this happen but would have went down swinging.  The other was allowing Matthew Stafford to continue after that crippling blow he suffered.  He may have passed that concussion protocol but clearly he was in a fog for two quarters.  The backup quarterback could have gotten that one score to still salvage this.  Little confidence in the Motor City after that epic collapse.

Loss And QB Controversy

Houston not only got stomped by Kansas City but doubled down in their misery.  Take a prognosticated decent season and instill a quarterback controversy in the middle of a rout.  Now the spirit of the game said that putting Ryan Mallett in the game was the best for the single win.  Well that did not happen and now the ship is rudderless after one game.  Everyone is playing nice in the media but the last thing Bill O’Brien needs is more to distract this team.  Now instead of just smooth sailing for September, the Houston Texans are already looking from the outside in at a successful season.

So there you have your immediate fades.  Ironically, both teams are a field goal road under dog against their perspective opponents.  Now you have a spot on the map.  We will develop a path towards that profit this week whether it will be the spread or a player/team prop.  Good fortune in your Monday Night games tonight and we will talk to you tomorrow here at The Brink.
