On the chin was how the industry would describe the action for Week Three.  Despite the linesmaker’s best efforts, some of the action could not be balanced by the spreads offered. Americas Bookie’s The Brink will give the backdrop for a very busy wagering Sunday in the NFL.  Three tiers were at work with a common theme that both the public and the sharps embraced.  What was the end result and why is  more coffee being brewed this very moment by our payment processing team.!

Back Up Quarterbacks

Both the public and the sharps embraced this theme the entire day.  Three games had the hottest action in the 1pm slot and two of them featured the second string signal callers.  Here is how it went down.

  • 1. Atlanta at Dallas saw very concentrated action on the Falcons.  With Romo out, America’s Team could not use their brand name into play.  Lopsided betting with the public crushing this game.
  • 2. New Orelans at Carolina.  Brees was out and and the sharps were on the war path.  Many big bets lost by the wise guys with this being the main bright point for the industry.
  • 3. Pittsburgh at St. Louis.  Betting by both sharps and public were on the Steelers but nowhere near the level of the other two.

Tier Two

This is where two distinct patterns came to play.  First the winners from the first game decided to wager on the afternoon games in an effort to double up or go home even.  The second was that all three teams that had the most money on the cashed.  Buffalo was the most heavily invested as people both picked up on Miami’s problems and simultaneously loved the Bills near comeback against the Pats.  While the sharps shun this double up theory, Joe Six Pack was lighting cigars with twenties all around the nation with this success.

Finally, people let it ride with the Broncos.  People picked up that the pedigree teams were piling it on.  Peyton did not disappoint and drove the point home with the Denver cover.  So Week One had the handicappers on top, Week Two saw the books get it all back, and now Week Three saw profit taking by our clients.  America’s Bookie salutes those that translated their superior football knowledge into profit.  Our team is on staff right now to process payments, handle deposits for bigger moves in week four, and attend to all our client’s needs.  Congratulations again and we will see you tomorrow here at The Brink.
