One of the early games of intrigue for the college football season has BYU (2-1) traveling to Michigan (2-1).  The number came out near – 4 1/2 on the Wolverines and for the most part has risen to the – 6 point region where it currently resides.  There were a few main components to this but the main one was that certain programs from the West would be in decline and thus over rated.  Two reasons were front and center in the theory.  One of them got destroyed last night.  It is time to do reevaluate where we all stand on this game that starts at noon EST in Ann Arbor Michigan.

Reevaluate Boise State

We were prepared to visit the wake once Virginia dispatched of the Broncos.  This was the same team that slugged it out with Notre Dame and was hosting a Boise State team far from home.  Not of this mattered as the Cavaliers threw an interception on the very first play and never got back into it.  Boise State had seventeen points before eight minutes of the game were gone.  They would force five turnovers and have the largest rout in school history over a power five school, 56 to 14.  With no doubt of whom the better team is, we look at the team that dinged BSU for their only loss.  It happens to be Michigan’s opponent, BYU.

Beyond Taysom Hill

This BYU team is one resilient bunch of young men.  After the miracle in Lincoln, they learned that their leader was out for the season.  Without their starting quarterback, they rallied for 21 in the fourth quarter to beat the aforementioned BYU team.  Following up on that, they gave a very talented UCLA bunch all they could handle before going down 24-23.  Now they face a slightly upsurgent conference with a programs establishing an identity.  One thing is for certain is that we will not discount the west as being over rated based on the drubbing inflicted last night.

So we are very fortunate that this occurred on a Friday evening when most of the betting public is blowing off steam.  The line is still at that juicy + 6 1/2.  The elite Big Ten Teams are winning the games they have to.  However, they can not continually cover against the other conferences nor the independents.  Based on all that was seen last night and the relative inexperience of the Maize and Blue, The Brink is looking for the BYU Cougars + 6 1/2 to bring home the bacon.  Good fortune and please act on this reevaluation before the betting public recovers from their Friday Night hangovers.
