Whether it is on the court or in the club, certain items have long worn out their welcome.  The NBA Finals lasted a little bit longer than it should.  Can we still beat on the same drum that The Brink has been in regards to the Cavs?  Also, we will examine what drinks should ride off in the sunset.  Whether out dated or just outright dangerous, these concoctions must vanish right away.  All of this in your daily dose of America’s Bookie’s The Brink.

The Red Bull

A pioneer in drinks that promise you power, this was a bartenders dream when it came out.  Unique and oddly acidic, Red Bull provides a unique ingredient to blend taste and pep in one beverage.  Many a bartender cringe when they have to make these as they have seen the effects of the crash near the last call.  Another drink that should be eradicated is the Cosmopolitan.  It is not a bad beverage but its strong association with the aged show “Sex and the City” has it being begged to be put out of it’s misery.  Finally, the Long Island Iced Tea makes the list.  Bartender friends have all indicated that it is far too easy to get trashed on these.  One moment of unawareness and a lady is stumbling and bumbling around.  It takes around thirty minutes afterward but a headache is sure to ensue when your woman does too many of these in a night.

If LeBron Bolts….

Year one of two is in the books for Cleveland.  The main players are looking at one more full year before the team (aka LeBron) decides what he will do.  While we can not lay the blame of the loss on Blatt, he did little to extend it to seven or even win it.  His iron adherence to a short rotation cost this team late in most games.  It was a miracle that they could muster the energy to rally in the second quarter.  They had Perkins, Marion, and Haywood that could have spelled valuable minutes even at the end of quarters for an extended blow by the starters.  Everyone knew the result of these last two games when the Warriors found out how to win.  Blatt stood pat meekly with a losing hand instead of rolling the dice to try to win.

Congratulations to the Warriors.  They discovered the way to win and beat the pesky Cav’s.  The series should have been 4-1 but in the history books all we care about is the title.  It is refreshing to see a team constructed so quickly through the draft win it all.  No assembly of super heroes were required.  They were neither the Heat nor the Spurs.  Golden State were their own team and they made it pay off by hoisting the trophy.  Good fortune to us today and we will see you tomorrow here at the Brink.
