This week’s US Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California marks the third Major in professional golf this season. Tiger Woods turned back the clock to win this year’s Masters at Augusta National in early April and Brooks Koepka won his second-straight PGA Championship with his victory at Bethpage Black in the month of May.

The US Open is often considered the toughest test in golf given the USGA’s reputation for setting up the course to play to par over the four rounds. Pebble Beach is a rather familiar course to many of the game’s top golfers considering how many professional tournaments have been played at this fabled venue on the Pacific Ocean. This should set the stage for a highly competitive four days of golf in a tournament that will probably come down to the final nine holes on Sunday afternoon.

When it comes to finding the best value on the board betting golf, you would have to put head-to-head matchups at the top of the list

As far as betting on this year’s event, many of the top online sportsbooks has built out their US Open betting board with a wide array of options. From betting on the outright winner to a long list of betting props, there is some solid value to be found in the posted odds.

2019 US Open- Dustin Johnson & Brooks Koepka vs. The Field

Picking the outright winner in any golf tournament is a very low percentage wager given the degree of difficulty in that bet. This becomes even harder for a US Open given just how deep and talented the field is for this event. The two golfers at the top of the futures list to win are Dustin Johnson at +750 betting odds and two-time reigning US Open Champion Brooks Koepka as a +800 second-favorite.

ATB’s Golf Betting News

You can get both of these golfers at +375 betting odds to win verse the -550 odds betting the rest of the field. Johnson won the US Open in 2016 and he finished third in last year’s tournament. He is coming off a pair of second-place finishes in this year’s Masters and PGA Championship.

Along with his back-to-back victories in the PGA Championship, Koepka has won the last two US Opens. He is just one of four golfers in the history of this tournament to accomplish that feat. He was also tied with Johnson for second in this year’s Masters. If you were going to bet on one pairing to win this week against the field it would be on these two proven US Open champions.

2019 US Open- Will Tiger Woods Finish in The Top 10?

Prior to winning this year’s Masters, Woods last win in a Major was the 2008 US Open. Over the course of his storied career, he has won a grand total of 15 Majors. Of his three previous victories in this week’s tournament, his most dominant US Open win was at Pebble Beach in 2000.

His betting odds to win again at this course are set at +1200 and you can get +125 odds that he will at least finish inside the Top 10. The betting odds he fails to make the Top 10 are set at -155. Woods proved that he still has what it takes to win golf’s biggest events and he has always played well at Pebble Beach over the course of his career. The plus money on the odds for YES makes this a solid value bet in my book.

2019 US Open- Winning Nationality

The betting odds a US player wins the US Open are set at -155. The odds someone outside the US wins are set at +125. Going back to Woods’ victory in 2008, a US player has won this event in seven of the last 11 years, including the last four US Opens. There are some great non-US players in this year’s field, but I am waving the flag this week and betting that this winning streak reaches five.
